Cutting Props

 Storefront Lock Cutting Prop

  • The Tradesman Fire Storefront Lock Cutting Prop simulates all of the necessary actions required to cut a mortise lock with a rotary saw.

Students must pry the outer section on springs away from the mounted body of the prop, replicating the real world application of spreading the door reveal to allow room for the saw to cut the lock, simulated with mild steel bar stock.

After the cut, instructors simply un-clamp the consumable, slide it forward, re-tighten, and you are ready for the next evolution to begin.

Thin steel slats cover the cutting side surfaces of the prop to prolong your prop’s life, and are easily replaceable. Cut your own, or we’d be happy to get you what you need.

  • Uses 1-1/2” x 1/2” mild steel flat bar, which is easily sourced from any local metal supplier.

We recommend cutting 2’ sections to use in the prop.

  • Uses the same bolt pattern as the Craftsman II door prop and Accessory Frame, and can mount directly to the uprights.

We also have a wall mount available for $50
